This is a pair of Edinburgh Silver toddy ladles from 1771.
Hand crafted in Edinburgh for the Innes family of Morayshire whos clan seat lies at Innes Castle just outside Elgin.
They are engraved with the family motto "Ornatur radix fronde" translated from Latin " the root is adorned with foliage".
Ladles are in excellent condition for age with one small spot just visible at front upper stalk.
